At MH Nurseries, our goal is to develop and manage a tree growth which supports the Cotswolds whilst future proofing historic woodlands from climate change.
Our aim is to promote and showcase a range of native species and other sub-species that will survive any adverse future climate conditions, whilst still retaining the aesthetics of our Cotswolds' National Landscape.
Our goal is to play a substantial role in the restoration of ancient woodlands.
MH Nurseries is located across various sites in the Cotswolds, which have been carefully selected to cover the vast diverse ground conditions, covering everything from free-draining stone brash to heavy water-clogged clay, meaning our stock becomes acclimatised to these local conditions.
Our various sites give us flexibility and a better understanding of controlling and monitoring any potential issues.
At MH Nurseries we ensure the correct provenance and origin for the majority of our tree species, but do also expand our plant sources to the North and South of England (and even as far as the North of France), which helps increase resilience against climate change, diseases and the predicted temperature increase of 2-5 degrees.
We ensure biosecurity measures during all stock selection, working closely with the CNL (Cotswold National Landscape), allowing us to adapt and support the resilience of our natural world.
